1-Day Workshops
- One-day workshops are designed for candidates who have strong English skills, but who would like help preparing for the examination.
- Applicants need to register 5 days in advance. Late registrations may be accepted if space is available.
- In order to register, download and complete the Toronto Melab Application Form (See Step 6) then submit it by fax, by mail, or in person.
- Workshops begin at 9:45 A.M. and end at 5:00 P.M.
- There is a lunch break. You may wish to bring a lunch.
- Participants will meet the instructor at 9:45 A.M.
- One day workshops take place at 40 Willcocks Street, 2nd floor lounge.
- All materials are provided.
What to Expect in the General Test Workshop
- Overview of the examination.
- How to write a MELAB essay.
- Participants will write a MELAB essay.
Lunch break
- How to approach a MELAB listening test.
- Participants will do a MELAB listening test.
- How to prepare for MELAB Grammar, Close, Vocabulary and Reading (GCVR).
- Participants will do a MELAB GCVR test.
Each section of the test will be graded. The instructor will answer any questions you may have.
What to Expect in the Essay Writing Workshop
- Instructions in essay structure, organization, grammar, and vocabulary/idiom use.
- Extensive practice in thesis development, paragraphing, transitions, and mechanics.
- Practice essay tests.
- Individual corrections and feedback.
- Development of study plan and exam strategies, including time management.
