The MELAB Specialized Workshops are designed to increase your proficiency in any one of the three parts of the written exam – Composition, Listening, and GCVR (Grammar, Cloze, Vocabulary, Reading). These half-day workshops will focus exclusively on developing the necessary skills to passing a specific section through intense drills, practice test questions, and feedback from our highly trained staff. Topics to be discussed include:
Composition: organization, topic development, writing effective outlines, and timing strategies.
Listening: Interrogatives, phrasal verbs, idioms, effective note-taking strategies.
GCVR: Phrasal verbs, idiomatic expressions, vocabulary, effective reading strategies.
Please Note: “A” and “B” sessions have the same teaching material but different practice questions: candidates who feel that they need extra practice may take both.
These workshops have been created specifically for candidates writing for the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC), although they are open to all candidates who have scored at least 70 overall on a previous MELAB exam. The Toronto MELAB Centre will also be holding a special test sitting EXCLUSIVELY for CSIC members on October 30th 2006.
All half-day specialized workshops cost $50.00 (or $120.00 for three). The Toronto MELAB Centre reserves the right to cancel workshops with inadequate registration. Prices may change without notice.
